Surround Back speakers mounted

Getting there!

Well the beast is finally mounted! Had to reinforce the ceiling joist to accomodate the extra weight, which involved accurate measurements, but it was worth it in the end. Picked up a 50mm desk grommet to tidy up the hole in the cavity wall for cable entry. Today will see me mount the surround back speakers (Richter Legend Rears) and some touch up paint work (around the grommet and above the projector where my dirty work glove kept rubbing off the freshly painted ceiling!). Have yet to play with the device but I have ripped the packaging apart! Here’s a pic:-

Painting finished

One major aspect of the renovation completed! Phase 2 will be next Wednesday, which will involve getting the window tinted (and the rest of the windows at the front of the house), then the carpet in the afternoon. After that will be fitting the skirting board and then Im good to go! Here are some pics of the finished paint job, although please note the camera has changed the real tone somewhat and the light in the room was poor today:-

This weekend will keep me busy installing the projector on the ceiling (and finding the best method of holding the weight of the damn thing!)

Work Begins

Today the room transforms! Painting began at 8am this morning, due to continue until completion tomorrow. Unfortunately I can’t get the carpet installed until next week sometime, but at least I can begin re-inforcing the ceiling for the PJ this weekend, and get the skirting board cut to size.
