The wall colours have been chosen. I decided NOT to go with a textered finish on the walls, for the fact that the colour samples I had – it was mentioned they can be quite noticeably different to the finished look, so I decided to play it safe and go for a flat matt finish. For those curious as to the colours I chose, here they are:-
Feature Wall (PJ screen) – Dulux “Bunker” (A151 EB)
Side and Rear Wall (inc. door) – Taubmans “Mascari” (T116-7)
Ceiling – Wattyl “Camouflage Tan” (35C-2T)
Got a quote this morning so confident I can get this done this week sometime.
This arvo I cleared almost everything out of the room, everything except the gear of course. I’ll leave them there until I do some touch up sanding. Pics of the room as of today:-

Over the weekend I managed to get the Krix Atmospherix installed. The room is 3.73m long, so a compromise had to be made as to how far from the side and rear walls these speakers would be flush-mounted. I chose, naturally, the best spot I could. A little test revealed they work quite well where they are, perhaps even better than the rear-mounted Richters on the wall behind the seating position! All good. Some install pics:-

Well after three days of harassing the online vendor regarding the status of my VW60 order, they finally got back me to tell me stock is unavailable for at least another week. Of course this doesn’t affect the completion of the room as it will be a couple of weeks at the earliest anyway, but I guess it’s the point of being kept in the loop, especially after you’ve parted with some serious cash. On the plus side, I’ve ordered an Xrite Display LT colorimeter for calibrating colour/greyscale on the new display (when it finally arrives!). Picked it up from www.bhphoto.com and should see it in the next week or so.

Full specs of this unit can be found here .
