Receiver Blues!

Last week I needed to switch power off at home while a light was being re-positioned as my new motorised garage door was being installed. Being the careful nerd I am, I switched all AV equipment off at home (followed by the Belkin conditioner) before switching off the power. Piece of cake. Unfortunately when power was restored and I switched everything back on I noticed my Yammy 3800 was acting strangely. It was trying to do a firmware update despite not having the update to begin with. After a few minutes of doing nothing I decided to switch it off and then back on again. All my settings were deleted! Then I remembered how great the high-end Yamahas are in that you can connect a PC via RS232 and use that to store your settings. Of course then it hit me that I had forgotten to do this! So Saturday was spent all night re-calibrating. Needless to say I backed up this time!
