Setting a new performance standard for Yamaha's RX-V receiver series, the RX-V1065 expands its functionality with a front USB 2.0 interface and an advanced graphical user interface that even lets you view album art while you listen to your favorite music. Teaming up with 7.2 channels and 735W of output power, Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio decoding fuel a powerful audio experience. Four HDMI inputs and HDMI pass through deliver advanced HD connectivity, while video upconversion enhances standard definition video to near-HD levels.

With the RX-V1065, Yamaha advances the performance of its RX-V series receivers beyond the standard set by the RX-V735. Unlike some receivers that appear to suffer from feature-saturation at the higher-performance levels, the RX-V1065's design demonstrates Yamaha's commitment to function and performance for the home theater. A front-panel USB port offers a quick connection for flash drives, digital cameras, MP3 player, or any other USB-compatible device, giving you the ability to instantly begin listening to compressed audio or viewing photos. A built-in HD Radio tuner gives you access to crystal-clear, CD-quality digital audio via existing AM/FM radio bands — over 230 stations are on the air now and some 2,500 are upgrading. Further, an advanced graphical user interface dramatically simplifies operation of your home theater system, and even allows you to view album art on your video display as you listen to your favorite music.

Yamaha has heeded your need for enhanced HDMI functionality. With its four HDMI inputs, the Yamaha RX-V1065 gives you the ability to use today's most advanced HD audio/video connection to hook up your newest HD component. Further, Yamaha has integrated HDMI pass through into the RX-V1065's repertoire. A straight line is always the shortest path. And when it comes to audio and video signals, it is also the highest fidelity route. While the RX-V1065 is capable of upconverting standard definition video signals to HD 1080p via HDMI, if your video source is emitting full 1080p already, the last thing you want to do is send it through the upconversion processing. This is akin to taking the long route — the more processing a signal is subjected to, the greater risk there is of loss of signal quality. The RX-V1065 ensures the best HD picture possible by letting HD 1080p video pass straight from your Blu-ray player to your HDTV via HDMI.

Let's be honest. There just aren't many people that buy a 7.2-channel A/V receiver, capable of 735W of total output power (that's 105W per seven channels) that aren't interested in enhancing their home audio and video experience with surround sound. Yamaha recognizes your need for surround sound bliss, and therefore has equipped your new 7.2-channel, 735W RX-V Series RX-V1065 receiver with a high-performance surround-sound decoding format. With superior spectral resolution and channel separation, Neural Surround draws the brain's attention to sonic details in musical instruments, vocals, and ambiance that are typically masked by other playback systems. This allows the listener to fully experience the richness and subtleties in recorded performance as never before.

Using YPAO automatic system calibration technology, your new RX-V1065 automatically optimizes your audio system's performance to the acoustics of your listening area. With a small microphone and sophisticated equalization technology, YPAO first checks the speaker connections and phase of each speaker. Then it sends out tones which are captured by the microphone to analyze the room acoustics and sets a variety of parameters, such as the speaker size, the distance of the speakers and even the sound pressure level until it achieves the best sound conditions for your room. Your RX-V1065 has an improved system that is faster (requiring less than three minutes), adjusts frequency response, and provides three programmed EQ patterns, plus the ability to manually adjust parametric EQ settings. Six YPAO settings can be held in memory and recalled via two system memory buttons on the remote control.
